Superb reproduction of one of the "lords of the road" of the 50's and 60's, the UNIC ZU 122 Izoard truck, 6 cylinders, 160 HP, cab with berth.

In the 50s and 60s, the term "primeurs" referred to the goods transported and by extension to the transporters who carried fruit and vegetables from the production regions - mainly Provence - to the consumption regions - mainly Paris and the major cities (*).

Like the UNIC ZU 122 Izoard, the fastest, most powerful and reliable trucks were the favourites of the "primeurs". These trucks had a "market garden" body with a cab overhang, a tailgate that could be folded back (to load extra crates) and side doors to facilitate loading and unloading, which was still done by hand. This "market garden" box, often made of wood on a metal frame, was ventilated at the top by means of slatted sides, and when the weather was fine the tarpaulins were raised.

The reproduction proposed by MAQMADON integrates all the characteristics of this "market garden" body: openable side doors, folding rear hatch, real wood covering of the most beautiful effect, real tarpaulin.

These models have no specific marking but are delivered with a decal sheet allowing each collector, if he wishes, to personalise his copy. The decal sheet contains the markings corresponding to 4 early fruit transport companies with, for each of them, the marking of the doors, the pediment, the front and rear registration numbers and the department plates.

(*) This epic was popularised by the TV series "La ROUTE" broadcast in 1964.
